In 2014, the UN General Assembly accepted Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposal of celebrating June 21 as the International Day of Yoga. Every year, the day brings together countries across the world in a celebration of yoga through coordinated programmes, demonstrations and miscellaneous events marking the occasion. Maxposure created a coffee table book for the Indian government to highlight the global success of the first ever International Day of Yoga (IDY) in 2015. As many as 192 countries celebrated the occasion with several events and demonstrations of yoga asanas based on the Common Yoga Protocol handbook, and events were attended by many diplomatic officials and government representatives the world over. Divided into seven continents, the content of the coffee table book effectively captured the global appeal and acceptance of yoga and showcased the success of IDY on an international scale.
